In August of 1988, only 19 days after the formation
of the EIB network, Daniel W. Donihue and Stayci R. VanderSanden tied the
knot and began their own network – the Donihue family. Over the years our family grew to include three children. Harry, Riker, and Liza.
The family also grew to include a few pets. A dog (Annie), 2 cats (Jynx and
Sabrina), a few fish (names would take too long), a turtle (Rocky), some snails (the webmaster just
found out about the snails), and a horse (Casey). Oh...darn it...looks
like the webmaster just found out about a few other pets. A couple of
hamsters (Sugar and Spice), and a frog named Skippy.
We
live in the town of Castaic California - approximately 40 miles north of
downtown Los Angeles. Our home is located near Castaic Lake. It
was our dream for many years to live in Southern California; ever since we
visited for the first time in 1988. Castaic is a small town with a
small town kind of atmosphere. Though we're near big cities,
living here is almost like living in the country. It's very peaceful
and quiet, and yet only 10 minuets away from the mall and the worst traffic
on earth.
Castaic is up in the
foothills so it's out of the LA basin smog. The Angeles National Forest
(no trees, by the way - just mountains) is only a couple of miles to the
north which keeps the central California fog out. Therefore, Castaic
gets nothing but the Southern California sunshine. We've really fallen
in love with the area. Between recreation at Castaic Lake, and the
short drive to just about any entertainment you can think of, we have a
great time living here.
The Donihues enjoy many family activities. Hiking, boating, camping,
and traveling - just about anything
that you can think of that is done outdoors is what we like to do. We
really like to head out of town several times a year, and we enjoy exploring
new places.

What a Great Place to Live - CASTAIC!
Although Castaic is primarily suburban in nature, its quite a
busy region, with an active and thriving business community.
Everything you need is just around the corner!
I-5, the lifeline to the state goes right through
our town, providing easy access to educational and
cultural advantages of the greater Los Angeles metropolitan
areas. The magnificent Southland beaches, deserts, and mountain
areas surrounding Castaic contribute to its beauty and make this
an attractive place to live and work.
Downtown Castaic is located 5 minutes from Castaic Lake and 20
minutes from Piru and Pyramid Lakes, providing easy access to
boating, fishing, and water skiing. Families love the fact that
our town is 5 minutes from Magic Mountain Amusement Park
and some of the world's best roller coasters. We're 90 minutes
from ski resorts, 30 minutes from Dodger Stadium and the Dorothy
Chandler Pavilion. Beach goers are grateful that we're just 45
minutes from Ventura Beach. Outside of rush hour, we're 25
minutes from
Burbank Airport and 45 minutes from
Los Angeles International Airport.
